Journey Before Destination

(1949 - 1975)

FOUNDATION ERA (1949 - 1975)

Established a national governing body for amateur boxing in India; set up organizational structure;
started national championships as regular fixtures.
First National Championships were held in March 1950 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Key Achievement: Created first organized boxing structure in India
